The Objective
Wordle is a simple but addictive word puzzle where you have six attempts to guess a secret five-letter word. Every guess provides clues in the form of colored tiles.
Green: The letter is in the word and in the correct spot.
Yellow: The letter is in the word but in the wrong spot.
Gray: The letter is not in the word in any spot.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Choose a Starting Word
Enter any five-letter word to begin. Statistically, words with many vowels and common consonants (like ADIEU, STARE, or ARISE) are the best choices.
2. Analyze the Colors
Use the information from your first guess to narrow down the possibilities. If a letter is yellow, try moving it to a different position in your next word.
3. Eliminate Letters
Don't be afraid to use a second guess to eliminate common letters that weren't in your first word, even if it doesn't include the green letters you already found (unless you're playing in "Hard Mode").
4. Solve the Puzzle
By the fourth or fifth guess, you should have enough information to identify the secret word. Take your time—there's no clock!
