Wordle Tips & Tricks
Propel your word-finding skills to the next level.
Choosing the Best Opening
Your first guess is the most important. It's all about broad letter coverage.
The "Vowel Heavy" Approach
Words like ADIEU, AUDIO, and LOUIE help you identify which vowels are present in the secret word immediately.
The "Consonant Specialist"
If you prefer finding common consonants, try starting with STARE, ARISE, or CRANE.
Mid-Game Tactics
Once you have a few colored tiles, here's how to proceed:
Don't Guess Randomly
If you're stuck with "S_ARE", don't just guess SPARE, SNARE, SHARE one by one. Use one turn to guess a word like "PHONY" or "CLIMB" to eliminate as many unique letters as possible.
Mastering the Grid
- Check for Double Letters: Remember that letters can appear twice in a word (like GOOSE or PIPER). A green tile doesn't mean that letter only appears once!
- Y is your Friend: If you're missing a vowel, check if the word ends in -Y. It's a very common ending in the Wordle dictionary.
- Think Phonetically: Sometimes saying the letters you have out loud can help you "hear" the hidden word.
